Review of Moon Air Inc.

Clay came out on short notice and worked tirelessly to figure out what was going on with our system. He wasn't going to give up until he figured out what the problem was. He was able to solve our problem and get our heat up and running again. Thanks again and I’ll be sure to call again with any HVAC issues I may have in the future.

Club Service. Successfully ran seven year old gas warm air furnace through all stages of operation. Return temperature 74degrees, warm supply temperature 114 degrees, total heat rise 40 degrees. Changed filter provided by customer. Draft motor amps were 1.8 vs factory spec of 3.3. Within a timely manner the gas ignited into a solid blue flame with no yellow tips. flame sensor looked good, all burners looked ok, brushed off control board, cleaned inside and outside cabinet with microfiber towel. Inspected blower motor wheel which looks clean and runs without restriction. Blower motor amps were 8.4 and its voltage enhancement system read 11 vs factory spec of 10, which means it is also within allowable fault. Tightened all screws, and electrical connections. Furnace is in proper working order at this time. Also recommend water heater maintenance.

No heat, noise from furnace, checked system and found main burners going out due to a tarp near the vent termination which was causing flue gas to come bad in the intake and put out the main burners, had customer move tarp.

Indoor unit in heating has a supply of 126 with a return of 73 and a 53 delta. Voltage enhancement system read 15 with a factory setting of 15. Board looks good with no burn marks and the connections are tight. UV bulb is working and air filter a little dirty, recommend replacing end of month. Blower wheel was dirty, cleaned and spins without restriction and the bearing is tight. Compartment looked fine. Cleaned burners and flame safety systems both look good. Ignitor looks ok and ignited gas on first try. Ignition occurred with no problems, flame was blue with no flames rolling back. Exhaust amps were 2.2 with a factory setting of 2.6, high limit amps were 0.4 and pressure switch amps were 0.3. Recommended air ranger to keep blower clean.

Six-year-old upside down counterflow Amana propane furnace. Removed the extremely dirty air filter and told the customer to buy more and replace it more often. Measured .4 Amperes on the combustion exhaust system (its voltage enhancer had a correct uF charge), 24 Volts on the barometric pressure and fuel distribution systems (the latter had a correct In-wg. pressure rating, .5 Amperes on the ignition system, and approximately three Amperes (low stage) and six Amperes (high stage) on the air circulation system. The latter correctly started approximately one minute after the flames ignited, and its voltage enhancer also had a correct uF charge. The warm supply air was 108 and the room temperature return air was 73 for a Delta T of 35. The CFM was 1,709. This is within the manufacturer's recommended rating. The rollout, limit, rectification (cleaned it), and barometric tubing (purged it with CO2 to prevent clogs) safety sensors all correctly extinguished the flames after being pulled fro

Cooling - Approximately a nine-year-old International Comfort Products (Comfortmaker) cooling system. The outdoor ambient temp was approximately 88 degrees. Checked the air filter and it was okay but it'll need to be replaced in another month or two. The cool supply air was 54 and the room temperature return air was 75 for a Delta T of 21. Measured five Amperes on the air circulation system, and its voltage enhancer had a correct uF charge. Verified the circuit board and wiring were in good condition. Purged the condensation pipe's U trap with CO2 and didn't detect any clogs. The indoor coil was clean. The refrigerant pumping system's run amps were 6.3 (RLA is 13), the start amps were five, and the air exhaust system's amps were .65 (FLA is .77). Confirmed the blades, disconnect, wiring, and voltage distributor were in good condition. The latter had a normal 239 Volts in and out of it. The outdoor voltage enhancer had a correct uFcharge. The condenser's discharge air temp was approxima

Indoor unit has a supply of 51 and a return of 70 with a 19 delta. The air filter looks good, recently changed by customer. Ductwork looks good with no visible compromises. Blower compartment looks good as does the blower wheel. Blower wheel spins without restrictions and the bearing is tight. Heat exchanger looks good. Coil looks good as does pan, pan treatment ready to be replaced. Outdoor unit voltage absorption system read 5/44.8 with a factory setting of 5/45 which is within allowable fault. The FLA is 0.75 with a factory setting of 1.5 and the RLA is 6.6 with a factory setting of 15.7. Outdoor unit cleaned and disconnect tightened.

No A/C roof top system, checked system and found circut protection for control voltage tripped due to failed control wires at rooftop unit, repaired short and test ran, operation normal at this time. Note saftey disconnect is rusted to the on posistion and needs to be replaced.

The air filter was changed, but the capacitor was running well below manufacturer standards at 1.57 and 2.98. The outside box had shown signs of melting and was replaced. The new capacitor is showing an amp draw of 1.2 on the FLA and 8.2 on the RLA. The system requires 1.5 FLA and 14.1 RLA. Also the fan wire is running at 0.9.
